Jeni Miller Commissioned and Installed as Deaconess at St. Paul's Lutheran Chapel.
On Sunday, July 17, Jeni Miller, was commissioned and installed as Deaconess and Director of International Student Ministry at St Paul's Lutheran Chapel, Iowa City. Dcs. Miller is a graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she received her Master of Arts degree in Theology as well as her Deaconess Certification. Prior to attending seminary, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing/Public Relations and Theology from Concordia University, River Forest, Illinois.
In 2008-2009, Dcs Miller served at St John Lutheran Church in Wheaton, Illinois for her deaconess internship. Her work at St John's included teaching Bible studies, making visits to those hospitalized and shut-in, planning events for the 20-somethings group, and caring for the congregation in a variety of other ways as needed.
Dcs. Miller is originally from Chicago, Illinois, but now resides in Cedar Rapids with her husband, Rev. David Miller, and their two chubby pugs. She enjoys playing tennis, trying new recipes, hosting parties, and spending time with family and friends.
