St. John Lutheran Church in Waverly

Doug Moss, Head Elder, presents Rev. Matthew Versemann with a check in honor of his 20 year ordination anniversary.

St. John Lutheran Church of Waverly honors their pastor

In 1991, an energetic young man graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, he got married and was ordained in July.

The members of St. John are very happy that these events all took place, and this young man followed the call of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Pastor Matthew Versemann, we are honored to have you as our Pastor here at St. John. We want to recognize and congratulate you on 20 years in the pastoral ministry of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

We appreciate you and your family being with our congregation for the last 5 years. It has been 5 wonderful years. You do an excellent job preaching, law and gospel; you are an incredible teacher that is very prepared and thorough; but most of all you are personable and caring and love to have fun as well. We have been truly blessed by you and your family. Thank you for your service to us.

We would like to offer you a token of our appreciation and affection for you and your family. We simply asked if anyone would like to contribute toward a gift to you and we had a great response. So we would like to present you with a check for $2000 and we ask that you and your family take an additional 3 days in the middle of the week and spend time together.

God bless you for many years to come. St. John Congregation
