Grace Lutheran Church in DeWitt

A group of Prayer Warriors have faithfully met every Thursday afternoon the past seven years at 2 p. m. in the sanctuary at Grace Lutheran, DeWitt. We pray each week for the ill in our congregation and community, those who are grieving, the birth of a child, concerns of the congregation or community, our country, its leaders and the military serving in various places throughout the world. Cards and messages are sent each week and signed by those attending the Prayer Service.

A special “Memorial Day Prayer Service” was held May 25th. Special guest attending were those who have served in the military or have family members that have served or are serving in the military at this time. Ron and Lavonne Jurgersen brought news from their son, Sgt Major Brent Jurgersen, who was wounded twice while serving in Iraq. Brent has been awarded two Purple Hearts and recently was promoted to Sgt. Major in the U. S. Army.
