Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Iowa City

The Our Redeemer Comfort-tiers in Iowa City found they had made and distributed a record number of mission quilts in 2010. The total was just under 700 quilts besides the 106 baby quilts and other sewn items! Most of the kudos belong to Lillian Moyer, who did the majority of the sewing.

Pictured from left to right, front row, are Dixie Walker, Linda West, Carol Schuldt, and Cheryll Davisson. Back row-Lillian Moyer, Betty Redeker, Bev Prem, and Ruth Langehough. Besides LWR, other recipients included the Ronald McDonald House, Domestic Violence House, Orphan Grain Train, Concern for Women, Boys' Ranch, Camp IODISECA, fire victims, Navajo reservation, Shelter House, Hope Lodge, Salvation Army and Afghanistan. A member of Prince of Peace in Coralville, lA, Leona Sidmore, also generously contributed some of the backs and tops. Two other younger members of Our Redeemer, Angie Hotz and Rhonda Waters (not pictured), helped in hemming the comforters.
